Condition: BNWT: Original 1960s unworn designer couture vintage. Very rare!
Description: André Courreges
André Courreges, a former civil engineer led the cult of visionary couture fashion design in Paris in the 1960s. It was a movement that cut away superfluous material, banned decoration and established geometry and the use of new materials in fashion. He placed the meticulous cut of fashion he had practiced in Balenciaga's atelier in the 1950s in the service of the 1960s idealism of youth and the future. Courreges is known as the father of the mini skirt which he designed stiff and square and advocated a minimum of body coverage.
Courreges also created the futuristic moon look and his models even wore space helmets!!
The best feature of this Go-Go dress is the mini style which was very popular with couture designers back in the chic era of MOD and was in fact invented by Courreges himself. This combined with the fabulous block colour design means this dress is quite literally a cut above the rest and I wouldn't be surprised if Twiggy herself owned a dress like this back in the 1960s when girls knew how to dress to impress!
This cute litttle 60's vintage mini-dress is new complete with original "Courreges" tags still attached! The dress features a stretch block pink and white geometric design in knit wool/acrylic blend.
